Heritage with colourful dots

by Jolita Jewellery

It’s been a wonderful long weekend and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. We had some guests visiting, which meant no time for blogging and that made my boyfriend the happiest man in the world:)

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the boat pageant in the afternoon. There were so many people lining up the banks of the river, that we had to go all the way to Tate Modern in order to access the river. We also used the opportunity to go and see Damien Hirst’s diamond skull again, which also reminded me that Yayoi Kusama’s exhibition has just finished.

Unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to attend it, however I was really looking forward to see how the collaboration between Louis Vuitton and the artist will look like when it sees the light. And what a sight it is!

The “Infinitely Kusama” collection is full of playful colourful dots. The first part of collection will hit the stores beginning of July. The pieces “touched” by Kusama range from handbags, to shoes, jewellery and clothes.

I really love how a luxury brand well known for its heritage transforms into something rather mischievious. For Marc Jacobs, who recently released a fragrance named “Dot”, it signifies the continuation of collaborations with artist.

I love the dots and the colours, however I saw a comment somewhere that these dots make Louis Vuitton look cheap. What do you think?
