Colourful statement earrings

Well surprise surprise, after a couple of sunny days London is back to grey skies and downpours. Hmmm, not very pleasant, but not much we can do and none to complain to either! So instead – brighten up your days by adding some colour. And the easiest way to achieve this – is to put on some bright earrings. They will instantly add a splash of colour to your everyday outfit and hopefully get you into summer mood.

Since we barely ever get to the state where we have any of our pieces in stock (purely because of the amount of orders coming through), every single piece is made as soon as the order comes through. Which also means we can customise most of our jewellery based on your requirement. That’s exactly what we’ve done for one of our customers with the statement earrings. The customisation this time was to make the earrings slightly “simpler”, by removing the coral flowers / skulls that we usually use to embellish.

So here’s one pair with coral flowers and another one with skulls:
And here are a few pairs without the flowers, which make the earrings slightly shorter, although no less of a statement.

New glamorous statement skull earrings

Not so long ago I introduced a new addition to our collection – Disco Skull Earrings.

When my brother made the very first pair I took an instant liking to them. We are both big fans of skulls (don’t ask, don’t know why, that’s just the way it is) and paired with glamorous crystals for me it was just a match made in heaven. Something glamorous, yet with an edge.

These particular earrings were so popular that we sold out very quickly, hence at the moment we are out of stock. However fear not! Until they are back in stock we have a new pair of glamorous skull earrings.

The new pair is made with clear crystals, with a dash of neon at the centre, and embellished with brass skulls, dipped in gold. The crystals also are dipped in gold for a beautiful rich finish.

I also took a side shot of these earrings to show how thin the skulls are. Not the best shot, but gives an idea.

New skull earrings

OK, so I promised we’ll have some new pieces to show and I’ll kick-off with some new additions to our Voodoo collection, where skulls take the centre-piece.

I’ll start with a very simple, nevertheless rather quirky shaped pair of Skull earrings, made of bronze skulls, suspended from 14k gold filled ear-wires.

If you are after something special and individual then you might like a beautiful pair of Skull and heart earrings.

These earrings are adorned with an exquisite hand-engraved heart and a bronze skull, made from original Balinese carving, which was dipped in 24k gold. The heart locket has been acquired during one of many trips to London’s antique markets, so makes these earrings extra special. Made with gold filled ear-wires and adorned with a black pearl each, this pair is strictly one-of-a-kind, hence never to be repeated again.

And last, but definitely not least – Skull and flower earrings.

Skull and Flower statement earrings are made with skulls and pressed coral roses, deliberately “playing” with flower setting, to make these two pairs of earrings just slightly more individual. Currently available in cream and turquoise, but we have some other colour flowers at the studio, so if you are interested in something slightly different – please drop me a line and we can discuss your options.

All new skull earrings are available for purchase on our website and will make a lovely present or a treat for yourself (if you are into skulls of course).

We can make a statement piece that You like

Our jewellery showcase event at Dadu store was a great success, I am so excited. We had great feedback from the customers, getting loads of requests from the ladies that haven’t managed to get the piece they wanted, so a wonderful reward for our hard work. I’d like to share pictures of some of the jewels we created for this event, but before I do that there are a couple of things I wanted to mention.

If anyone is interested in getting a piece made in a choice of your colours – please get in touch as early as possible. We are working hard to fulfil the demand and we want to make sure that everyone gets their necklace, earrings, bracelets ASAP:)

Are skulls your ‘thing’ ?

In a lead up to Halloween (which is not my favourite celebration at all) it seems like talking about skulls is rather appropriate:) So in today’s post I wanted to talk about some of the pieces from our Voodoo collection, which is exclusively dedicated to skulls.

Nowadays there are so many sites where anyone who wants to get a dab at styling or simply express themselves has all the means in the world to do it. And just so we are clear I am saying it with the highest respect.

So thanks to sites like Polyvore, Lyst, Asos, Boutine etc. that I came across some outfits put together by others including our pieces. I always find it interesting to learn how other people are wearing their Jolita jewels, how they style them and how they incorporate them into their outfits. So I wanted to share some of them in this post and see what your thoughts are.

Here’s our Never Apart Ring with pink coral and two hand-carved buffalo horn skulls as used in a rather rock-n-roll “Back to school” outfit.

The next outfit is much more up to my personal taste and includes Skull earrings. Made of sterling silver the skulls are cast from original Balenese carvings and suspended from aged sterling silver chains.

The next few sets include White Skull Stud earrings that proved to be rather popular. Made with white hand-carved bone skulls which are set in 14 k yellow gold filled studs.

I think the first picture of the up-close shot is slightly misleading, so I have added another one, that better shows their size.

All you need is…earrings

There were loads of posts across the blogs and magazines, including one of mine, that statement earrings are perfect accessory when you need an instant boost to your outfit. And this picture by stylist and photographer Hayley Benoit is a wonderful testimony.

Statement earrings: get your ears into a spotlight

 

I love the feature Boticca – an online destination for unique accessories – released today. It’s all about ears!!

Boticca’s stylists selected a vast variety of earrings ranging from hoops to chandelier, so there’s something for everyone! I’m very pleased to see our Las Vegas earrings that I just posted about a couple of days ago. The first pair already gone to Australia, so if you want one – hurry up!

To see other fabulous pieces – head straight to Boticca’s page. I found them all so pretty, that I gave up choosing the favourites. I’ll leave it up to you.

Meanwhile we are working on more new pieces to make your ears look pretty. We are waiting for these beauties to be manufactured and then my brother will set to work. To make the earrings pictured below he will be hand-painting crystals and silk, that will be used to cover the stones.

I absolutely love the colours and texture, hope you find them beautiful too!

New colourful statement earrings

I spent a day with my brother at his workshop yesterday, which was great fun. Whilst I was cradling my laptop, he was working on new pieces and made some new statement earrings in bright and really fun colours.

I saw the silk being painted and then covering the sparkly rocks, I saw crystals being painted in various colours, I saw the pieces drying, being photographed and I even did a bit of modelling for the day to shoot the pictures of what the earrings look like when on.

And the best part – all the new pieces are clip-ons, so even if you don’t have your ears pierced you can still wear the earrings!

New collection of colourful crystal earrings

My brother has created a selection of amazing crystal earrings. He mixed and matched the colours and came up with these designs.

I absolutely love them. Some of these are clip-ons. Imagine the sparkle in the sunshine!
