Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great week! I’m back from my lovely holidays and as you can tell from the post title I spent them in a beautiful Marrakech!
I took hundreds of pictures of this magical city and here are the select few.
I stayed in a beautiful small hotel, tucked away a bit further outside the city. It was very peaceful and quiet, just what this holiday was supposed to be.
In the picture above is the pool area, where most of the time was spent. It was very hot, with temperatures rising to +36C or +39C daily, so the pool really helped! The hotel owner said it’s very unusual it’s so “cool”, usually at this time of the year the temperature is well above +40C!
So after a day of relaxation and soaking up the sun, I went to visit absolutely stunning Jardin Majorelle. It was created by French painter Jacques Majorelle and later bought by Yves Saint Laurent (saving it from becoming a part of a hotel complex), where he often stayed and worked. You can read more about it here.
The garden is absolutely stunning, its colours are a true feast for your eyes! There was no need for any colour enhancement on the pictures, because it’s just absolutely divine and perhaps in real life it all looks even more colourful.
The garden has a beautiful cafe and it was an absolute delight to drink a cup of coffee and a juice cocktail under the orange tree with a few birds.
The garden isn’t very large, but I spent there probably a few hours as I couldn’t get enough of how beautiful it is. I also visited a small gallery with Y.S.Laurent paintings and a small souvenir shop.
It was a fantastic day, spent at a truly wonderful place and for the rest of the week I was looking back at the pictures often, remembering the beautiful plants and colours I saw.
A little bit more about my trip in tomorrow’s post.
Have a wonderful day ahead!
