Another beautiful little town on the coast of Lake Garda, famous for its wine. It’s been the hottest day so far, so walking around in the heat was quite a task! Nevertheless we have managed 🙂
The town looks quite empty, but as you can see there are some tourists in the shade 🙂 It was incredibly hot (let me say it again) and just like Spanish, Italians appeared to have a siesta ( I didn’t know that). It usually starts at 12.30 and lasts till 3.30 or more often 4.30 pm. In Bardolino we found some shops open and restaurants stay open everywhere too, but on the first day in Desenzano I couldn’t find any shop to by water (didn’t know about the siesta then…).
Here’s a little video I took:
Bardolino is a little beautiful town, so once finished looking around we sat down by the marina to have a refreshing drink.
These are traditional drinks to have at a lunchtime. The orange one is called Aperol and is sweet with a slight bitterness, so I opted for Hugo, which is a mix of prosecco elderflower lemonade and mint.
It’s been a wonderful trip and if you haven’t been to visit Lake Garda – would highly recommend.
