Beautiful Italy – pics from the holidays – Bardolino

Happy Wednesday!

Hope you haven’t got bored yet of my pictures from Italy. So far we’ve been to Desenzano and Sirmione and in today’s (last post) I’ll take you to Bardolino.

Another beautiful little town on the coast of Lake Garda, famous for its wine. It’s been the hottest day so far, so walking around in the heat was quite a task! Nevertheless we have managed 🙂

The town looks quite empty, but as you can see there are some tourists in the shade 🙂 It was incredibly hot (let me say it again) and just like Spanish, Italians appeared to have a siesta ( I didn’t know that). It usually starts at 12.30 and lasts till 3.30 or more often 4.30 pm. In Bardolino we found some shops open and restaurants stay open everywhere too, but on the first day in Desenzano I couldn’t find any shop to by water (didn’t know about the siesta then…). Bardolino, Lake Garda, July 2015Bardolino, Lake Garda, July 2015Bardolino, Lake Garda, July 2015Bardolino, Lake Garda, July 2015Bardolino, Lake Garda, July 2015Bardolino, Lake Garda, July 2015

Here’s a slightly unusual stripy house, which has a narrow street leading to the beautiful lake.

We took a little break to sit down on a bench in a shade and to admire the beautiful view. The mountains, the boats, the turquoise water, it was so peaceful! Bardolino, Lake Garda, July 2015

Bardolino is a little beautiful town, so once finished looking around we sat down by the marina to have a refreshing drink.

These are traditional drinks to have at a lunchtime. The orange one is called Aperol and is sweet with a slight bitterness, so I opted for Hugo, which is a mix of prosecco elderflower lemonade and mint.

It’s been a wonderful trip and if you haven’t been to visit Lake Garda – would highly recommend.

Thank you for reading!
