Creative ways to wear skull or other earrings

We received this absolutely amazing feedback from one of our customers and I wanted to share it with you. Not only because I am very proud of it, but also because it gives some ideas what else you can do with the earrings.

White Skull Studs by Jolita Jewellery

The earrings “in question” are our white studs that also come in black and this particular pair was bought via our online Boticca store.

For the comment to make sense I wanted to show the images of the studs, which by the way are probably a bit misleading. They look pretty big, but in reality they aren’t that large. I hope the third image will better show their size, which is important when reading this feedback above.

White skull studs by Jolita JewelleryAfter I saw this amazing feedback I looked up the internet and found some images of others wearing earrings on their collars. Although I have to say I mainly found clip-on ones.

The customer who left us a comment also wore the studs on her evening purse, which is very quirky and absolutely fantastic. You can also pin them to your scarf, a lapel of your jacket/coat, perhaps to a hat or even a belt.

I think these studs are quite small thus it is not something that can be spotted from a distance. And that is exactly what I like about them. With earrings being so tiny I feel like I am making my own private statement and it is only for those close to me to see it.

I hope this post gives you some ideas on how to wear earrings in new and creative ways. Do you have any suggestions of your own? Would be lovely to hear them.

Olivia Earrings as seen in S Magazine

We are very pleased to see our Olivia earrings featured in S Magazine.

The feature was a shout out for all those who love bold prints, featuring an array of beautiful pieces in florals and paisley. S Magazine also suggested that one needs oversized accessories to make a statement and colourful earrings would work really well for the occasion.

Olivia clip-on statement earrings are hand-painted in bright and pastel colours. Set with blue, cerise and green crystals they are also dipped in black chrome for a luxurious and modern finish. You can find them in our Boticca store.

And although the outfit, including our earrings, is focusing on one’s holiday ensemble, do not worry even if you are not intending to go away anywhere any time soon. Apparently September is set to be a warm, beautiful and sunny month, so we can continue enjoying summery trends! Fingers crossed!!

Vintage pieces getting a new lease of life

Boticca desinger feature Jolita Jewellery

Those who are familiar with our jewellery know how many details are going into each design, especially if you take a closer look at our chunky bangles. One of my friends even said that “it’s a separate universe“. And I think she’s right. So many items that might have been broken, unwanted or got loose end up being incorporated into each piece that you can spend hours “treasure hunting” just by looking into one jewellery piece.

Boticca desinger feature - Jolita Jewellery

Last week on Friday one of the lovely ladies from Boticca accompanied my brother onto his regular trip to London’s antique markets where he not only finds inspiration but also picks up some trinkets to incorporate into his jewellery pieces.

This time he went to Notting Hill – one of my favourite areas in London, famous for its colourful Porto Bello market, lovely houses and trendy bars.

Destination – Portobello Road antique market, considered world’s largest, hence no wonder it attracts a lot of people from around the world.

During this trip my brother picked up some pieces that caught his eye, which will later be incorporated into the creative process. Each little object finds its way into a jewellery piece on its own time. Sometimes it’s something that my brother had in mind for a while – sometimes it’s just an object that he picked up without any further thoughts.

Regardless whether this is a desired or a random object until it finds its way into a bangle or a necklace it will stay in jar or a box.

Just to give you a little taster have a look at Feather and Skull bangle. Embellished with feathers and finest hand-spun Indian silk, the bangle is embroidered with Swarovski crystals, Tibetan hand carved skulls, vintage crystal components, semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls, beads and shells from the Caribbean Islands. A myriad of components that come together into one piece.

Hope you enjoyed having a little insight into Jolita Jewellery’s world. If you want to find out how other designers are sourcing items for their pieces – please have a look at Boticca’s blog. And if you want to see what other pieces my brother has created, come and have a look at our website.

Wafa Alobaidat pick: Prague Necklace

Boticca's Guest Curator choice -Prague Necklace

I was just writing a post about our pieces being available in Bahrain and as a complete coincidence one of the recent guest curators on Boticca is from Bahrain. And another lovely surprise – she picked our Prague necklace among other fabulous pieces.

Boticca – your online destination for amazing accessories – invites a different guest curator each week to pick their favourite pieces available at Boticca.

I am admiring the fashionable business woman who keeps herself busy with the blog Fashion Ambitions, the magazine Sketchbook and the creative agency Obai & Hill.

Wafa chose a selection of fabulous accessories and thought our Prague necklace is both colourful and feminine. “I would wear it with a striped shirt and baby pink jeans with simple diamond studs”.

Here’e what the necklace looks like up-close. How would you wear it?

The necklace travelled all the way to Paris and then to the photo shoot, which took place in sunny LA. Wish I was there….
